Walnut Elementary School will recognize Red Ribbon Week from Oct. 26-30th. This is a perfect opportunity to discuss the topic of drug prevention with our students to promote healthy choices. Below are the weeks activities:
Monday, 10/26 - "Turn Your Back On Drugs!" - Students may wear their clothes backwards.
Tuesday, 10/27 - "It's No Sweat to Say No to Drugs!" - Students may wear sweats or sweat suits
Wednesday, 10/28 - "Hugs, Not Drugs!" - Students may bring a small stuffed animal to school
Thursday, 10/29 - "Hocus Pocus - "Drugs Aren't My Focus!" - Students may wear sunglasses to school
Friday, 10/30 - "Take a Stand Against Drugs!" - Students will participate in a costume** parade around the school.
**Please do not allow your child to wear costumes with gory features or details. No weapons (guns, knives, swords, ninja sticks, etc.) No masks – we need to see their faces! Appropriate closed toed shoes are also required.
